We can always use a few new folks on the Forest Lake Association board.  If you think you'd like to become a board member, just speak to one of the current board members (names below).  Elections are held at the FLA Annual Meeting - this year on August 2nd.  Thank you!

WELCOME TO THE FOREST LAKE ASSOCIATION

Very sad news to report to all who knew Pete Schindelholz.  He was, for all intents and purposes "Mr. Land O'Lakes".  Our sincere condolences to Diane and his family.

Peter “Painless” Schindelholz, passed away surrounded by his family on July 28, 2025.

Husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend and Doctor of Dentistry (even at 1am for patients in pain), he set a high bar for those he leaves behind.
Pete began his dental practice in Land O’ Lakes in 1979, knowing unequivocally the Northwoods was his calling. He and wife Diane began a family here with two daughters, Paula and Laura (like their father, both Doctors; that keep their spouses on their toes). His family grew to include four rambunctious grandsons, who he loved to share his joy of life with.

He embraced the outdoors in all of the ways Northern Wisconsin, Montana and the Florida Keys have to offer. Pete started the Land O’ Lakes fireworks over 40 years ago, inspiring rumors of the ‘dentist with a hobby’ whose fireworks rivaled that of New York City.

When approached for medical donations for the nation of Haiti, he decided to do it directly, so he started a dental clinic there and ran it for 20 years, free of charge for the community.

He approached life with a subtle and sustainable energy and creativity that is hard to impart. He was taken early, but rewarded with no decline in his resolve to carry on the most important family traditions, provide the best care to all around him, and to quietly serve others in his family and community.

He is survived by all those that knew what an incredible man he was and all those that strive to be the same. We’ll miss you Painless!

Please come celebrate his life with us at: Snowflake in Land O’ Lakes, October 4, 2025 4 – 8pm.

Arrangements by Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home, Eagle River. Online condolences may be expressed at gaffney-busha.com
